Some pictures of a script read-through meeting of KBS TV’s new drama series Love Rain, starring Jang Keun Suk, SNSD’s Yoona, and Jung Jin Young, have recently been released.

The script read-through, which took place in the annex building of KBS on last Thursday, centered on Seo Jun (played by Jang Keun Suk)’s first meeting with Lee Hana (played by Yoona), which will be shot in Japan. Including director Yoon Suk Ho and other cast members, Jang, Yoona, and Jung attended and had the meeting in a friendly mood.

Already finishing shooting the part of the 70s, Jang and Yoona attracted attention by portraying completely different characters from the ones in the 70s. Jang, portraying two opposite characters of gentle, friendly, devoted Seo In Ha in the 70s and selfish, picky, carefree Seo Jun in 2012, and Yoona, changing from innocent, shy Kim Yoon Hee in the 70s to positive, boyish Lee Hana in 2012, are increasing many people’s expectations for the drama series.

In addition to this, Jung is expected to show his gentle charisma as middle-aged Seo In Ha in 2012, also increasing people’s expectations about his romance in the drama series.

KBS TV’s new drama series Love Rain, which will talk about the pure love in the analog period and the trendy love in the digital period, will start airing on March 26.

On February 17, the 4HIM Entertainment, Park’s agency, announced that at 7:00 p.m. on February 24, Park Shin Hye held her independent fan meeting under the title City of Angel, Angel’s Birth at the JEPP Tokyo in Tokyo, Japan.

At the meeting, a colorful fandom consisting of both male and female fans in all age groups crowded the event hall.

As part of the prepared events, Park was asked what her ideal type of men is. As soon as Park was given the question, fans there started crying at the top of their voices their most favorite Korean actors Park has partnered with in drama series and films such as Um Tae Woong, Ju Sang Wook, Jang Keun Suk, Lee Hong Gi and Lee Seung Gi. Park jokingly responded while laughing: “Isn’t this about my ideal type of men? Not yours!”

To celebrate Park’s 22nd birthday, Japanese fans prepared a surprise birthday party for her. Actually surprised and touched by the surprise event, she shed tears before the audience.

Park reciprocated fans’ support and love by playing Beyonce’s “Why Don’t You Love Me” on the guitar, and made male fans’ hearts flutter through a sexy, impressive dance performance.

Actress Jang Keun Suk recently proved that he is very popular in Japan.

On February 22, Jang’s agency, Tree J. Company, said that Jang played his free live concert, ‘We are Team H,’ which was held on February 20 and 21 in Tokyo, Japan, to over 220,000 people online.

Jang played his live concert on one of the biggest video sites in Japan for people who couldn’t come to the venue to see his concert.

The concert was broadcasted live starting at 6:30 p.m. for about 85 minutes and 227,034 people in total watched it. Then people left 109,508 comments on the website.

Jang decided to hold the concert prior to Team H’s first Japanese mini album Lounge H the First Impression release on March 21. Team H is a project group, composed of Jang and his music partner Big Brother. The concert was free to Japanese official fan club.

After the concert, Jang said, “When I held the concert, ‘Lounge H’ last year, I promised to hold another concert this year. That’s why I decided to hold the concert and I also wanted to be with my fans.”

He added, “I wanted to enjoy the party with the fans who couldn’t come to the concert too so I played the live concert online. I was so happy to hear that lots of fans watched the concert.”

Actress Park Shin Hye surprised fans by dedicating a song to them at her birthday party fan meeting with official Korean fanclub, "Starlight Angel" on February 18. She wrote the lyrics of this particular song to express her feelings towards fans. She played the guitar and sang the song herself. Park Shin Hye's sincerity expressed in the song touched many fans hearts.  

An official from Park Shin Hye's agency, 4HIM Entertainment, commented, "This song is very meaningful because it's dedicated to Park Shin Hye's fans and she wrote the lyrics herself. I've been watching her struggling to get the words out and practicing on her guitar until she got calluses on her fingertips. I'm happy that all of these struggles and practicing times have been paid off as the fans appreciated the song so much. Although the song doesn't have a title for now, I think it is only right if the fans title the song themselves." 

The event lasted about two hours without a host, but Park Shin Hye proved to be a multi-talented entertainer as she efficiently hosted the meeting, lead the conversation with her fans freely and participated in games. She also sang "Lovely Day" and had an opportunity to re-enact scenes from "You're Beautiful" and "Heartstrings" with fans. Moreover, fans got a chance communicate with Park Shin Hye in various ways, such as asking a series of 5-letter questions. 

Many fans from overseas like Thailand and Japan also attended this fan meeting/birthday party. Park Shin Hye sent off her fans by sharing warm handshakes with each and every fan. Park Shin Hye and Starlight Angel agreed to donate profits made from this fan meeting to a Non-Profit Organization "Food for the Hungry" to sponsor "Starlight Angel" village in Ghana, Africa, where she visited previously as a service volunteer.

Yoon Gun and Park Shin Hye recently met each other for a music program.

Yoon and Park will appear on cable channel MBC Music’s Music and Lyrics, in which a musician and an actress will collaborate on a song and tell a story along the way.

The first time, they met was in a penthouse  to record the show. According to the production crew, the two stars didn’t know much about each other until they had the chance to meet in person. They finally met on the set and liked each other very much.

The production crew said that Yoon played a lovely Christmas carol especially for Park and created a romantic atmosphere on the set. Park kept repeating over and over again how much she liked the song.

On February 17, Yoon said, “Since Park is very positive and interested in music, I think we have the ability to make an amazing song.” Park said, “I really liked recording the show. I enjoyed it very much and I felt like I’ve become more energetic. I can’t wait to record the next show.”

Jang Keun Suk is caught up in absurd controversy. This controversy occurred as some Korean newspapers copied one of the articles written by an anti-Korean Japanese newspaper without confirming the validity of the news.

On February 17, some online newspapers reported that Jang Keun Suk said he wanted to eat Aoi Sora, a popular adult movie actress from Japan, when he arrived in Japan last August. It was reported that Jang was asked, “What do you want to eat?” and he said Aoi Sora, misinterpreting the question as “Who do you want to meet?”

However, this article is all fabricated. When Jang arrived in Japan last August, he said, “I want to eat Sushi.” It can be proved because a video of his interview at that time can still be found online.

Tree J Company, Jang’s agency, says, “The fabricated article was uploaded on a Chinese portal website because Aoi Sora was popular in China, and some Korean newspapers copied that article.”

Jang’s agency also says, “Because Jang Keun Suk is highly popular in Japan, many anti-Korean newspapers try to spread malicious gossips about him. Some Korean newspapers copy them without confirming whether or not they are true. We wish that they don’t just copy such malicious articles without confirming their validity.”

Over 50,000 people clustered to attend Hallyu star Jang Keun Suk’s Japanese showcase.

On February 17, Jang’s agency, Tree J Company, said that over 50,000 people applied for Jang’s Japanese showcase, ‘We are Team H,’ which will be held on February 20 and 21 and invite 4,000 people for free.

Jang decided to hold the showcase prior to his Japanese album Lounge H the First Impression release on March 21. The agency said, “4,000 people were invited to the showcase out of the competitive rate 12-to-1.”

The showcase will be held for about 2 hours. Jang will perform the Japanese versions of the songs, “I’ve Had Enough” and “Shake It” from the album Lounge H the First Impression for the first time.

The album is Team H’s first Japanese album. Team H is a project group, composed of Jang and his music partner Big Brother. The album will includes 10 songs in total, including, “I’ve Had Enough,” “Shake It,” Gotta Getcha,” “No Human Smell,” and “I’ve Had Enough Extended Club Mix.”

Despite the surge in anti-Korean sentiment in Japan, Jang Keun Suk has proved his popularity is unwavering.

Jang will be heading off to Japan to attend a promotional event for his movie You’re My Pet, which is to take place in the Osaka Dome on February 11, alongside Kim Ha Neul, Jung Yu Mi and Ryu Tae Joon. The event will include talks with fans and onstage performances such as dancing and singing.

The 35,000 tickets to the event sold out as soon as they went on sale, and reportedly accommodations for hotels in the vicinity hiked up to 700,000 won.
